Most of us have heard of (or perhaps experienced) the dreaded “Freshman 15,” an expression commonly used to describe the amount of weight gained by college students during their first year away from home. While there is much debate regarding exactly how much weight college students gain during their years in college, there is no arguing that a many young people gain weight during this time in their lives.


User-Centered Development for a Mobile App

In a recent project funded by the National Cancer Institute (HHSN261201100108C), investigators at Klein Buendel teamed up with associates from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the University of New Mexico to develop a mobile application (app) for sun protection.

Collaborator Spotlight: Dr. Suzanne Dobbinson

Dr. Suzanne Dobbinson is a Senior Research Fellow at the Cancer Council Victoria (CCV), a non-profit research and outreach organization located in Melbourne, Australia. CCV works to reduce the impact of all cancers through cancer research, prevention, and support. Dr. Dobbinson received a B.S. in Zoology and an M.S. in Marine Science from the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand, and a Ph.D. in Community Health from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
