Built Shade in Public Parks

Environments can be structured to reduce solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation exposure to prevent skin cancer. A group of investigators from Klein Buendel and institutions in Australia conducted a randomized trial to see if they could alter the environment in public parks in Melbourne, Australia and Denver, Colorado in order to decrease UV exposure.


Observed Sun Protection of Vacationers at Resorts

During vacations, many people experience high-risk sun exposure, which is associated with an increased risk for skin cancer. Klein Buendel, Inc. (KB) and San Diego State University (SDSU) addressed this issue by setting up a randomized controlled trial at vacation resorts during 2012-2014 that provided information to resort visitors about sun safety.
