While vaccination rates for young children in the U.S. currently meet recommended standards, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports the uptake of vaccines recommended for adolescents and teens to be less than optimal (1). In the case of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines, they are seriously below desired uptake levels.
